Laser Eye Surgery: Seeing the Truth

Our eyes are one of the important senses that we treasure. With these, we can appreciate how aesthetically beautiful the things are. Our eyes can tell us things that can never be described by words which makes it so precious that's why encountering problems to our vision is always taken seriously an since sight ailments are increasing, many have sorted out on the most popular and effective treatment that would not require much time and pain-- the laser eye surgery.

Laser eye surgeries were made available in various processes. There exists Lasik, Lasek and Lasak eye surgeries that had different techniques in enhancing vision acuity but are all involving the use of lasers. Many practitioners have been widely using such kind of surgery because it is easy to execute, fast and painless. It also provides immediate vision enhancement that one will only need about 24 hours up to five days max before acquiring an almost 20/20 or 20/40 vision.

After the operation, patients will only need about 24 hours or less than a week before the blurring is relieved. Their vision will be then even better than before without that dependence on eye glasses or expensive contact lenses. It has been one of the most demanded surgeries in the west nowadays due to its fast and promising results that have been proven by thousands to millions over Europe and America.

Most laser surgeries work through the reshaping and carving of the cornea to perfect the focus of the eye. Since the cornea will be thinned, such process is contradicted by some eye specialists that are concerned on the future effects of such surgeries to patients. No one may predict when will those thinner cornea wears off because every patient encounter different daily risks and activities plus the fact that fluids on the eye and intraocular eye pressures are not equally the same from one person to the other. These eye doctors' panic in a way because there is already an estimated million who have had the said surgery in United States alone.

Studies are continuously conducted regarding the matters of laser eye surgery. Both sides are still in need of a better proof against the issues raised by one party to the other. It will not be as simple as skimming on books for answers, thus requiring a longer time to better prove the claims of both sides.
